Two Wonderful Years

L and I celebrated our two year anniversary this week. Although we both had to work, it was a wonderful week of celebration including L surprising me with a night off call so we could go to dinner on our actual anniversary, and complete with a surprise overnight trip in San Antonio he planned.

And we decided on a new tradition...these stairs are at the hotel where our reception took place, so we are going to try to take a picture here each anniversary...we will see how long it lasts...probably until we start looking older and do not want the comparison :) This year was taken with an iPhone so forgive the quality.

When people ask me about marriage, what I did not expect or what the best part is, I usually say, I did not expect to love him more than I did on the day I married him. I was so very in love with him that day and I did not necessarily expect that love to change. I thought there was no way I could love anyone more...but yet two years later, and I love him more than that day and more than I ever imagined. God has blessed us immensely and we are grateful for the marriage He continues to grow and bless.

Adoption update...well let's just say it is good the waiting was already well with my soul. After some news we received last week, we do not expect any update until the first of the year. Hopefully on anniversary number three we will need a babysitter!

  1. Is Leighton wearing the same shirt for the first and second anniversaries? If so, awesome.

  3. Happy Anniversary, M! I like the tradition. And for the record, I think you guys look even better now than 2 years ago.

I'm sorry to hear that your adoption process has slowed or hit a speed bump. Sometimes I think the best things happen when we're on our way to the next thing. It's like God has a plan for the waiting, imagine that! But maybe this interim period before the new year will provide you and L a little relaxation from the wait. His timing is perfect after all.

You're in my prayers. Happy Anniversary!
