Keeping A Family Together

I believe that we were made to grow up in our biological families. That God planned us for our mother's when He created us in their womb. I believe that every child should have the opportunity to grow up with their mother who gave them birth, their father, and their siblings.

Unfortunately, because we are a fallen world plagued by sin and disease, this does not always happen, and it breaks my heart. My least favorite word is orphan. No child should have to grow up without a family and love.

Since we have returned from Uganda I have prayed about and wondered what God would want from my time there. He definitely pricked my heart by many things we experienced and saw, but I am still not completely sure all that He wants to do with it. One thing I do know, is as opportunities come up and He tugs on my heart, I want to obey.

The current opportunity that has come up is written about by my friend Kelley here. It is a single momma in Uganda that has three children. She is very sick with AIDS and tuberculosis. She lives in a small village and needs to receive medical care. If she dies, these children will become orphans. She needs treatment NOW.

What can we do?

We still have 36 t-shirts left from our adoption fundraiser. We are selling them and all $25 will go to help this mother get the medical treatment she needs. If we sell all 36 shirts that is $900!!! Let's help this family stay together.
