We are now the proud parents of this precious boy, D...
...can he get any cuter?!?! Needless to say, we are in love with him. He stole our hearts from the first moment he was told we were his mommy and daddy and he ran into our arms. I had dreamed of what that moment would be like for over a year, was prepared for the worst, but got the best. I will never forget that moment and how amazing it was.
We ended up spending six weeks in Uganda because on original court date, April 4th, our judge was not in court and they reassigned our case for the 24th.
We were able to update family and close friends via email while we were in Uganda, so over the next few weeks my posts will be a recap about our time in country and snippets from those updates. I had planned to keep a daily journal for D while we were there, but highly underestimated the lack of energy a new mother of a two year old has ;) so I hope these updates will help me recap our journey for him one day too.
We are home now and it is amazing. D is doing so wonderfully - we asked God to prepare his heart and He sure has answered our prayers. We are so very blessed to be his parents and to have traveled this journey God led us down. There were bumps in the road while we were in Uganda, but He never left our side. He did have a purpose in the time He has us there and He was so very faithful to all He promises us. Glory to Him alone that we are home with our little boy...forever.
His transformation has already begun...to give you an idea, here is the very first picture we received of him in December beside a picture taken in Uganda a few weeks after we were united. God does set the lonely in families. We were all made to be loved and cared for. God is good.
