This morning on the way to work I heard Steven Curtis Chapman's new song Do Everything on the radio. It was so inspiring and made me excited for his new album coming out in August. As I listened to the lyrics closely, it spoke volumes to me, here is the chorus:
Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do
The song goes on to talk about how in everything we do, not matter if is hanging out with friends, sitting at home, whatever we do should glorify Him. It reminded me that every thought and every action I do should bring a smile to His face as if I could physically see Him with me on earth, because He is here and He does see. I tend to be a rule follower, so my natural response, unfortunately, is obedience out of obligation, however, these lyrics were a solemn reminder that I should do it because that is why I was created, my sole purpose in creation is to glorify Him.
I am not perfect at this, but I do want it to be my daily purpose. I am grateful for His grace when I fail Him and so honored He has chosen and created me for His glory. "For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him." Colossians 1:16
Adoption update: We received a lot of paperwork and education courses, by a lot, I mean A LOT! We are working to get these completed and schedule our in home visit with our social worker. We also found out we are currently looking at being in country eight weeks to complete adoption, rather than the four-six weeks we had originally estimated. God is sovereign.
Mandy, I LOVE your blog. It is so uplifting! And of course, I love the adoption updates. :) Keep it up!!!
